3rd EARSeL SIG LU/LC and NASA LCLUC joint Workshop

ECOPOTENTIAL participated in and contributed to the 2018 NASA Land Cover and Land Use Change (LCLUC) Spring Science Team and LCLUC Multisource land Imaging (MuSLI) initiative (Landsat Science Team) Meeting that took place at Marriott Washingtonian Center (Rio), US Maryland, from the 3rd to the 5th of April 2018.

This meeting consisted mainly of presentations from the LCLUC Science Team members and additionally hosted posters of recent results from other ongoing international LCLUC projects and research activities.

ECOPOTENTIAL was represented by CERTH, in particular by Dr. Ioannis Manakos, who presented a) ‘The EODESM system: a New Approach to Land Cover and Change Classification’, highlighting the importance of ECOPOTENTIAL H2020 project and its partners’ contribution to the development of a geospatial data homogenization platform for land cover evidence based change monitoring, and b) ‘GOFC-GOLD SCERIN: Multinational Intercomparison of Global and Continental Land Cover Products in South Central and Eastern European Region  – preliminary results’ showcasing ECOPOTENTIAL contribution to LCLUC regional efforts.
