2017 AmeriGEOSS Week

31 July – 4 August 2017, San Jose, Costa Rica

The AmeriGEOSS week will take place from 31st of July to 4th of August 2017 in San Jose, Costa Rica. Capacity Building is a foundational activity in the AmeriGEOSS initiative, and it is designated as a priority activity of the focus areas (Water, Agriculture, Disaster, and Biodiversity/Ecosystems). In 2017, AmeriGEOSS in partnership with the National Meteorological Institute (IMN) and the University of Costa Rica will host the AmeriGEOSS Week training event between July 31 and August 4 at the University of Costa Rica. Experts in the areas of remote sensing and data management will provide four parallel training sessions throughout the week. This training is intended for staff of government institutions and other decision makers in the region.

The three courses given will be as follows:

  • GEOGLAM Latinoamérica
  • GEONETCast system Training on Satellite Data: Access through GEONETCast Americas, Display, Interpretation, and Usage
  • CEOS WGCapD Course on SAR Technology
