13 – 18 August 2017, Paris, France
The conference is named in honour of Victor M. Goldschmidt (1888 – 1947), whose classification of the behaviour of the elements in the Earth and meteorites laid the basis of modern geochemistry. Each year, the conference brings together thousands of scientists from throughout the world to talk about subjects including the origin of the Earth and planets, the chemical processes that have shaped Earth’s evolution over time, the interconnections between life and the physical world, the search for new resources, and the environmental challenges facing today’s world. Goldschmidt is the foremost annual, international conference on geochemistry and related subjects, organised by the European Association of Geochemistry and the Geochemical Society. Goldschmidt2017, the world’s major geochemistry congress, is due to take place in Paris, France, from August 13th-18th, 2017. More than 3600 abstracts are expected, with up to 4000 attendees.
The 2017 conference will feature sessions on a variety of newsworthy topics, including:
- Making of Planets (exoplanet exploration and impacts)
- Geobiology of the Past (mass extinction, fossils, origin of life)
- Energy Resources for Society
- Mineral Resources for Society
The European Association of Geochemistry and the Geochemical Society are very much looking forward to welcoming you all to Paris for another successful conference! (https://goldschmidt.info/2017/index)
